Girls in Sunglasses
I did a series of girls in sunglasses this past year. They were done on Aquabord which is a textured clayboard.
The effect is similar to a fresco.

Steel Pan Player
This musician was at the ferry terminal in Vancouver. The painting was done as a pour- I did layers of resist/masking fluid to save the white of the paper or the color I want then I pour liquid watercolor across the paper. Then the hands and face were painted.
He now uses the image for his business card.

Snow Dreaming
I took an illustration course at the New Hampshire Institute of Art before we moved to Victoria. In that course, I had to create several illustrations based on different stories. For this painting, I used my daughter as my model. She has darker hair but chose to make her blond for the illustration. I often take it to my shows and most people seem to recognize my daughter in the painting. It is my modern matchstick girl.

A company in LA saw my last image of the dinosaur and hired me to do a painting for their Christmas card. This is the finished product.

The Bubblemaker
I decided to start my illustration blog off with this painting because it was one of my first watercolours. It is of my son and was done about 7 years ago.
